DIY Candy Cane Earrings .x.

I know I've been missing in action ( & I'm sorry! ).
But I'm back with a DIY for Christmas (:

Easy to make Candy Cane Earrings ♥

First you'll need pipecleaners .
For those of you who aren't sure what they are , it's like furry wires ;)

Pick whichever colours you want to use .
I picked the classic red & white for the candycane .

Loop the white across the edge of the red one to secure it .

Then just start twirling it around the red one .
Remember : stop where you want to add the hook & then continue after adding it .

& voila!

Candycane earrings :D

Valentine's Day Fortune Cookie .x.

I haven't posted a DIY in awhile so I decided I just had to post one for Chinese New Year & Valentine's Day since they fall on the same day .

Combine both celebrations , & I've come up with Valentine's Day chinese paper fortune cookies .
( paper : for those who can't bake & hey , you get to keep it longer! )

I got this idea of the paper fortune cookie somewhere off the internet ages ago , but here's my twist on it (:

Firstly , get coloured paper . Choose what colour you want your paper cookie to be . I usually use textured brown paper , to make it look more realistic . But since it's Valentine's Day , I opted for pink (:
Firstly draw a circle onto the paper . The bigger the circle , the bigger the cookie .
I used a mini Starbucks cup to get the circle because I wanted mine small .

Cut it out . Fold the circle in half , make sure you do not crumple the circle.

Hold the paper as shown in the picture . Do not press it down .

Bring the two end sides together .

When you do that , the middle part will fold in . If you want it to look more realistic , fold it off center .

However I wanted mine to look more like a heart , so I folded it right in the middle .

It'll look something like that ( as shown in picture ) .

Cut a strip of paper to write your fortune / love note on . Make sure it's small enough to fit inside the fortune cookie & long enough to be pulled out of it .

Then just place the note inside & try bending to see how it looks like .

When your satisfied , place glue/sticky tape , bring the side together & let it stick .

& there you have it , Valentine's Day Fortune Cookie :D

But I did a little something extra , I wanted to place my cookie in a small Chinese takeout box .

I got this template via Google :

You can copy this picture & expand it before printing it out .

I suggest grayscaling it or making the lines fade before printing it out .

Or if you aren't as lazy as me , you could print a copy & cut it out , & then place it on another paper & cut out so you won't have the lines/writing on it .

When it's put together , it look like the picture above .

Then you can place your fortune cookie inside your takeout box & your done! :D

& you can decorate your take out box with anything you like , get crafty! (:

It's actually ridiculously easy .

Christmas Card - How To .x.

For those of you who like making cards instead of buying them , I thought I'd show you the one I made my boyfriend last year for Christmas .

I just took a black piece of A4 paper & folded it into 3 .
This is the front :
Where I just used paper to create Santa's belt & red jacket effect . Then I glued buttons down the front .

This is how the back looked like , I used a Snowflake pixellette to cover the snap buttons I used to open & close the card .

Like this :

The inside , I just pasted more pixellettes , made a Christmas tree out of old ice-cream sticks , stuck star buttons & made paper mistletoes .

The tree was easy to do . You can either buy the ready made coloured sticks or just paint the brown ones . Then cut them ( as shown in picture below ) & for the tree ornaments I used a puncher to make perfect coloured circles .

I made the mistletoe the same way , except the leaves I cut out from paper .

Studded Bracelets - Tutorial .x.

I absolutely adore studded accesories .

But they all seem to be a bit too pricey for my liking , so I decided to make my own (:
( See picture below! )
& this is how I made it .

I bought black foam . You can use any colour , depending on what you like .

Note : POPULAR bookstore is having a sale on these , so go grab em (:

& you will need studs . I got mine from Eff-Bombs . They have quite a variety & it's reasonably priced (:

Measure the foam to whatever size your wrist is , make sure to leave some extra space as well .

Then just stick the studs into the foam . It goes through real easy , because it foam is soft & the back of the studs are pretty sharp .

It'll look something like this .

Repeat process until satisfied ;)

You will also need , snap buttons to close your bracelet .

You can either sew it on , or hot glue it on .

& there you go , studded bracelets :D

Earring Stud holder + Pixellette .x.

I love little stud earrings , but I've kept away from buying them because of my tendency to lose them . Always!

But I finally figured out a way to keep them safe & sound .
By using my pixellettes (:
( since they have tiny holes , small enough for earring backs )

The front . The back . Sideview . & it looks cute enough to wear out as it is :D

& then I just hang it in my closet along with my other chains :D
Now you know you want one too ;)

Hand Gloves ( from Old Socks ) .x.

I wanted hand gloves ( just for fun ) & decided to make them out of my old ripped rainbow socks :D

So I thought I'd share a how to .

So here's there the front part of the rainbow sock with toes ( I personally like the toes part! )
& here's the back part where the heel is .

First , you have to cut off the toes part .

Just the tips though , you want your fingers to be able to have seperate compartments .

& so this is what it'll look like :D

Now flip it over to the back so you can work on the heel bit .Lay it flat , the heel part will tend to stick out .

Just fold it in .

Once you've fold it in & are happy with how it looks , it'll look something like in the picture below .

Then sew the gap shut however you like .

Ok , so I'm not good at sewing , but heck it was an attempt :p

Just as long as it's sewn shut & doesn't stick out , it's all good (:

After sewing , it looks like ( the picture below ) .

It'll look like this . It's not perfect but it works .

& there you go :D
